away-game travel Web site RedskinsTravel.com is giving away two free tickets
to The Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks National Football League
divisional playoff game, in a Redskins Fan Appreciation Sweepstakes.
The sweepstakes is being held by RedskinsTravel.com
as a way to “thank all the fans” for supporting the team and
travel provider. Since the initial online announcement yesterday about
the contest, the popular Redskins away-game travel Web site has averaged
almost 1,000 hits an hour, with over 10,000 eager fans signing up to enter.
Along with the tickets, the contest winner will receive complimentary
airfare and hotel accommodations to the Saturday, January 14, playoff
game being held in Seattle, Wash.
Tickets to the pro football playoff match are highly sought after. The
Seattle Seahawks home stadium, Qwest Field, holds 67,000 seats.
The Hall-of-Fame Coach Joe Gibbs-led, NFC East Division Redskins won 10
games this season and is the playoff sixth seed and one of the Wildcard
teams. On Saturday, the Redskins defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in
Tampa, 17-10, in the first round of the playoffs.
The 13-3 Seattle Seahawks, led on the field by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck
and 2005 NFL Most Valuable Player running back Shaun Alexander, are the
number one playoff seed in the NFC, and won the NFC West division.
